1.0 Scope
This standard outlines the procedure for assigning equipment Tag numbers.
This numbering system assigns a unique number to each equipment in a plant.
1.1 In an existing plant, the assignment of equipment Tag numbers shall be as per
respective affiliate numbering procedure.
1.2 SABIC E&PM approval shall be required for assignment of any number.
1.3 All equipment within a vendor-supplied package shall also be assigned Tag numbers
according to this procedure.
2.0 Numbering System Format
Equipment and Driver Symbol: This is two or three character as defined in Table-I,II &
III.
Unit and Sequence Number: This is four (4) digits, two (2) digits will be for unit
number. And two (2) digits will be for sequence number.
The assignment of unit/sequence number shall be as follows:
a) New plants in grass root area: EPC contractor shall assign unit
numbers to the specific plant. This numbers shall be from 00 to 99.
b) New plant in existing area: SABIC E & PM will assign the Unit
numbers upon request from EPC contractor.
c) sequential shall be starting with 01.
Suffix: One alpha character to identify each of the multiple equipments in a single duty.
