Security Locks

This SAES-O-210 Standard imposes mandatory requirements for security locks utilized in Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 facilities. You must use this Standard together with Security Directive SEC-10, which is issued by the High Commission for Industrial Security (HCIS), Ministry of Interior, Government of Saudi Arabia.

General Requirements:

This standard outlines the requirements for locks used in various areas of a facility, including buildings that house security systems, plant process control rooms, security control centers, and perimeter gates. The term “locks” refers to door locks, padlocks, and emergency exit locks.

Definitions:

• A door lock is a lock installed on a door that leads to an area where security systems, security control centers, or facility process control rooms are located.
• A padlock is a lock used on a security gate.
• An emergency exit lock is a lock used on a door designated as an emergency exit in the facilities mentioned above.

Requirements:

• All locks must adhere to the requirements outlined in Section 4.2 of SEC-10.
• Padlocks used for gates must meet the requirements specified in Section 4.2.2 of SEC-10.
