LIQUID DENSITOMETER STANDARD / METER COMPUTATION TEST

Scope

This Guideline provides a method to ensure that the standard density and
meter stream density computation is functioning correctly by entering keypad
values.

LIQUID DENSITOMETER STANDARD / METER COMPUTATION TEST

Frequency As needed
Procedure PREPARATIONS:

Ensure that the meter stream is off-line and out of service.

Give a brief description of the test in the Metering Log Book. Record the
results of the test on the Liquid Density Standard / Meter Computation
Test Sheet, attached.

Ensure the flow computer tag and serial numbers are recorded on the
test sheet, attached.

PROCEDURE:

The standard density and meter density computations are checked
using the following procedure.

a) Enter flow computer keypad values for the following;

– Measured Density
– Densitometer Pressure
– Densitometer Temperature
– Line Pressure
– Line Temperature

b) Record on the test sheet the displayed value of standard
density.

c) Record on the test sheet the displayed value of meter stream
density.

e)
If the calculated density values and the recorded density values
are within tolerance the test is complete. The flow computer
should be returned to the ‘As Found’ state with the fixed values
of density, pressure and temperature removed from use.

f)
If the displayed and expected densities are out of tolerance
investigate the reason and attempt corrective action. If a
significant error is still observed, change the flow computer.

g) Once the displayed and expected densities are within
tolerance complete the test sheet and ensure it is marked with
appropriate comments. The test is complete, return the flow
computer to the ‘As Found’ condition with the fixed values of
density, pressure and temperature.

h) Enter details of all tests in the Metering Log Book. Record if
the flow computer has been replaced and the serial number of
the replacement flow computer.
