Scope: This guideline ensures the master meter used for portable (Truck Loading/Unloading) proving is maintained to an acceptable standard.
MASTER METER CURVES | PROCESS & CONTROL SYSTEMS
Frequency: Not applicable
Procedure
PREPARATIONS:
Master meter and master prover must be inspected to ensure no valves leak, meter internal clearances adjusted and the units are generally sound.
Temperature and pressure devices must be certified.
EQUIPMENT:
o Master meter and prover
o Certified thermometers
o Certified gauges
o Hoses and adapters
o Pulse accumulator
PROCEDURE:
Specification Criteria:
The master meter shall have a ten point curve that is determined on
turbine fuel using the master prover. The curve points shall be
verified annually or whenever accuracy is in question
Verification:
The curve points shall be verified using the master prover by proving
at three points (20%, 50% and 80%) on the curve.
The curve is considered valid if the factors repeat within 0.02% of the
respective curve factors.
After Maintenance:
After any maintenance that requires the meter casing to be opened, a new ten point curve shall be generated.
MASTER METER STORAGE
Scope :This guideline identifies the methods to be used for protecting the meter of
the Master Prover while storing the Master Prover.
Frequency: Not applicable
Procedure At end of prover certification program, two options are available.
o Leave meter bucket in meter housing. Fill with 5-10 weight motor oil for corrosion protection. Cover the Master Prover with custom protective tarp.
o Remove meter bucket from metering housing. Place bucket in 5-10 weight oil for coating. Wrap and store in safe location so as not to be damaged. Cover the master prover with custom protective tarp.
Indoor or outdoor storage for Master Prover is acceptable provided one of preceding steps is completed.
