Air Cooled Condenser Receiving Inspection and Storage
Receiving
- Contractor shall visually inspect all incoming equipment for damage and for conformance to all applicable requirements, including the supplier inspection release with verified Material Test Reports (MTR)
- An identification tag or name plate made of 316 stainless steel or better, shall be attached to each unit, securely with stainless steel or Monel fasteners.
- The tag or name plate shall be marked by raised letters or die-stamping with at least the following information:
a) Purchase Order Number
b) Manufacturer
c) Part/Model No.
d) Serial No.
e) Date of Manufacture
f) Mark/Tag No., etc.” - The tag or name plate shall be located such that the information is visible and can be read after equipment installation
- Each condensing unit shall be complete with all operational equipment, including solenoid valve, sight glass with cover, and cartridge type filter on liquid lines.
- Fin spacing of condenser coils shall not be closer than 15 fins per inch*.
- Copper fins on copper tubes shall be used for all condenser coils within ½ km of sea*.
- Vertical air-cooled condensers shall be provided with wind deflectors
- Compliance to SAER-1972 Materials Inspection and Testing. HVAC Equipment (on shore) is an inspectable material with Inspection Level 2. Special SA-175 Form is required
Storage, Handling and Preservation
Verify that approved procedures for handling, storage and preservation of condenser lists all the required inspection schedules for maintaining the quality of the condenser.
* Verification is required by checking the equipment submittal if verification is not possible by visual inspection.
