AWS Educate Starter Account is a free access to some services provided by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that does not require a credit card for payment. It is available to students, educators, and other users.

How to Get it?

Users can get an AWS Educate Starter Account for free through third-party providers such as Qwiklabs and Vocareum. By signing up for an account, users can get credits ranging from $25 to $100. Institutions that are part of the AWS Educate institution list can get higher credits.

AWS services that are eligible for the Educate Starter Account can be found here. These include Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon CloudFront, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon SageMaker.

Post-Graduation Ineligibility: AWS Educate Starter Accounts are not eligible for use after graduation.

Inability to Link Accounts: Users cannot link their AWS Educate Starter Accounts to other accounts.

Annual Renewal: AWS Educate Starter Accounts must be renewed each year during the user’s period of enrollment.

Maximum Credits: When creating an AWS Educate Starter Account, users are limited to a maximum of $100 in AWS Credits.

Creating an AWS Educate Starter Account

Step 1: Go to the AWS Educate page

Step 2: Enter Personal Information

Key Point: Fill in the required personal information like your name, email, DOB, etc. accurately.

Key Point: Fill in the email address provided by your college if you have one. If not, you can fill in your personal email address but you will get a warning. Ignore the warning, complete the captcha and click next.

Step 4: Read the Terms and Conditions

Key Point: Read the terms and conditions carefully and select ‘I Agree’ if you agree. Then click on Submit. You will then receive an email with a link to verify your email address.

Step 5: Verify Email Address

Key Point: Go to your email and click on the verification link. After clicking on the verification link, your email address will be verified.

Step 6: Attach College ID

Key Point: If you filled in your personal email address and you receive a mail saying your application is not approved, reply back to the mail by attaching your college ID card along with all the details like your course name, university roll number, teacher name and email.

 After some time, you will receive an approval mail from AWS Educate support team containing details about accessing your AWS Educate account. The approval mail contains the link to set your password, after setting the password you will be taken to the home page of the AWS Educate account portal.
