Commercial Kitchen Hood Test
TEST PROCEDURE AND CHECKLIST
- Test procedures shall be in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE 110 latest edition
- Visually Inspect the physical condition of the hood interior, sash, and duct work (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.1)
- Check Airflow indicator system (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.2)
- Check low airflow and loss-of-airflow alarms at each alarm location (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.3)
- Measure face velocity (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.4))
- Verification of inward airflow over the entire hood face (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.5)”
- Automatic fire dampers shall not be used in laboratory hood exhaust systems
- Fire detection and alarm systems shall not be interlocked to automatically shut down laboratory hood exhaust fans.

CONCLUSIONS
- Measured Velocity is in accordance with Design requirements (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.4).
- Test results are acceptable and in accordance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and contractual requirements.
