TEST PROCEDURE AND CHECKLIST

  1. Test procedures shall be in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE 110 latest edition
  2. Visually Inspect the physical condition of the hood interior, sash, and duct work (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.1)
  3. Check Airflow indicator system (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.2)
  4. Check low airflow and loss-of-airflow alarms at each alarm location (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.3)
  5. Measure face velocity (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.4))
  6. Verification of inward airflow over the entire hood face (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.5)”
  7. Automatic fire dampers shall not be used in laboratory hood exhaust systems
  8. Fire detection and alarm systems shall not be interlocked to automatically shut down laboratory hood exhaust fans.

CONCLUSIONS

  1. Measured Velocity is in accordance with Design requirements (NFPA 45 Para 8-13.1.4).
  2. Test results are acceptable and in accordance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards and contractual requirements.
