Control Wire Installation with mainline pipe for Plumbing System

  1. Install control wiring in trenches with mainline pipe wherever practical as per international standard of UPC Para 720.4.
  2. All wiring above finished grade shall be enclosed in steel conduit (UPC 310.1).
  3. Control valve wiring shall be 12 gauge UL rated for direct burial (NEC Para 720.4)”
  4. Control wires shall be taped / fastened to the pipe every ten feet (UPC 310.1)
  5. All wire shall be installed below or level with the bottom of adjacent pipe(UPC 310.1)
  6. All wire connections shall be made with watertight connectors and contained in valve boxes. (UPC 310.1)
  7. Loop a minimum of three (3) feet of extra wire in each valve box as per standards of (UPC 310.1).
  8. Common ground wire shall be white.(UPC 310.1).
