CRITICAL VALVE SEAL INTEGRITY CHECK | PROCESS & CONTROL

This test is intended to check the integrity of twin seal valves by monitoring the cavity seal pressure using the differential pressure indicators.

Frequency As indicated

CRITICAL VALVE SEAL INTEGRITY CHECK PROCEDURE

PREPARATIONS:

The test must be performed with product flowing. Ensure that the tests performed will not interfere with the normal operation of the metering system.

Give a brief description of the test in the Metering Log Book.

Record the results of these tests on the Critical Valve Seal Integrity Test Sheet, attached.

PROCEDURE:

The critical valve seal integrity shall be checked using the following procedure:

a) Request the valve to be fully closed then check the differential pressure gauge at the valve body. Observe whether the differential pressure falls to zero.

b) Complete the valve seal integrity test sheet. If no differential pressure fall was observed the check is complete.

c) If differential pressure fall was observed corrective action is required.

d) Once the corrective action has been taken and no differential pressure fall is observed the task is complete. Record the results with appropriate comments on the test sheet.

e) Enter details of all tests in the Metering Log Book.
