Scope
This guideline outlines when meter curves are required to be generated and
the conditions for acceptance.

FLOW METER CURVES GUIDELINES AND PROCEDURE
Break In Period
The break in period before generation of a meter curve shall be as follows:
| Condition | Break in Period |
| New Meter | 24 to 48 hours |
| After Maintenance or Inspection (no new parts) | 12 hours |
| After Maintenance or Inspection ( new parts) | 24 hours |
Acceptance
New curves shall be linear to within 0.3% minimum to maximum of curve
points in the meter’s normal operating range and within 0.05% between
adjacent curve points.
Curve Points
For custody transfer applications the minimum no. of calibration points for a
given size meter are:
| Meter size (Nominal) | Number of Points |
| 4 inch & below | 5 |
| 6 inch to 12 inch | 8 |
| 16 inch and larger | 12 |
