Scope
This guideline outlines when meter curves are required to be generated and
the conditions for acceptance.

Break In Period
The break in period before generation of a meter curve shall be as follows:
Condition | Break in Period |
New Meter | 24 to 48 hours |
After Maintenance or Inspection (no new parts) | 12 hours |
After Maintenance or Inspection ( new parts) | 24 hours |
Acceptance
New curves shall be linear to within 0.3% minimum to maximum of curve
points in the meter’s normal operating range and within 0.05% between
adjacent curve points.
Curve Points
For custody transfer applications the minimum no. of calibration points for a
given size meter are:
Meter size (Nominal) | Number of Points |
4 inch & below | 5 |
6 inch to 12 inch | 8 |
16 inch and larger | 12 |
