  1. Discharge check valves shall be provided immediately before the control valves and flow meters
  2. Strainers shall be provided immediately before the flow meter and control valve
  3. Pressure gauge shall be installed on the suction side of positive displacement compressors, complying with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  4. Pressure gauge shall be installed on the discharge side of positive displacement compressors, complying with manufacturer’s recommendations.
  5. Pressure gauge shall be installed on the oil side capable of measuring oil pump discharge pressure, complying with manufacturer’s recommendations
  6. Stop valves shall be installed in the refrigerant piping of a refrigeration system at the refrigerant outlet from a liquid receiver. See item A8 for exceptions (UMC section 1111.1.2)
  7. Stop valves shall be installed in the refrigerant piping of a refrigeration system at the refrigerant inlet of a pressure vessel containing liquid refrigerant and having an internal gross volume exceeding 3 cubic feet (85 L). See item A8 for exceptions (UMC section 1111.1.3).
  8. Stop valves shall be installed in the refrigerant piping of a refrigeration system at the inlet and outlet of a positive-displacement type compressor, compressor unit or condensing unit. (UMC section 1111.1.1)
    EXCEPTIONS:
    1. Systems with nonpositive-displacement compressors.
    2. Systems having a pump-out receiver for storage of the charge.
    3. Systems containing less than 110 pounds (50 kg) of Group A1 (see attachment No. 1 for Group A1 refrigerant)
    4. Self-contained systems do not require a stop valve at the inlet of the receiver.
  9. Each condensing unit shall be complete with all operational equipment, including solenoid valve, sight glass with cover, and cartridge type filter shall be provided on liquid lines.
  10. Contractor shall install any other devices shown on the Construction Drawings or required by the manufacturer on suction and discharge sides.
