This article is about HVAC Chilled Water System Components Installation as per International Codes and standards.
HVAC Chilled Water System Components Installation
- Chilled Water System Components shall be installed at the location shown on the Construction Drawings
- Packaged equipment shall come complete with all internal piping, controls, electrical wiring, valves, pumps, fans, etc
- Provisions shall be made to control equipment induced vibration. The use of vibration isolators between equipment and foundations and/or building structures is required to minimize transmitted vibration. Fan casing and air handling units shall be attached to ducts with flexible connectors.
- Rotating equipment within the housing of units (Air Cooled Chillers), shall be mounted on vibration isolators.
- Expansion tank shall be connected to the chilled water pump suction line.
- Chilled water expansion tanks shall be equipped with sightglass to provide indication of system water level
- Automatic air-vents shall be provided at the, or close to the highest elevation within a chilled water system.
- Low Flow” switches shall be installed on the pump suction lines.
