HVAC Chilled Water System Components Installation

  1. Chilled Water System Components shall be installed at the location shown on the Construction Drawings
  2. Packaged equipment shall come complete with all internal piping, controls, electrical wiring, valves, pumps, fans, etc
  3. Provisions shall be made to control equipment induced vibration. The use of vibration isolators between equipment and foundations and/or building structures is required to minimize transmitted vibration. Fan casing and air handling units shall be attached to ducts with flexible connectors.
  4. Rotating equipment within the housing of units (Air Cooled Chillers), shall be mounted on vibration isolators.
  5. Expansion tank shall be connected to the chilled water pump suction line.
  6. Chilled water expansion tanks shall be equipped with sightglass to provide indication of system water level
  7. Automatic air-vents shall be provided at the, or close to the highest elevation within a chilled water system.
  8. Low Flow” switches shall be installed on the pump suction lines.
  9. Chilled water systems shall be provided with standby chilled water pump(s).
  10. Chilled water pumps shall be upstream of chillers.
