HVAC Exhaust Fan Receiving
- Fans shall be air-foiled, backward-inclined, backward curved, or forward-curved.*
- “Fans shall meet the requirements of AMCA 210 “”Laboratory of testing fans for aerodynamic performance rating””.
Note: Certification by the manufacturer is required upon Saudi Aramco request” - “Fans shall conform to AMCA 99 “”Standards Handbook””
Note: Certification by the manufacturer is required upon Saudi Aramco request” - Variable speed fan shall be provided in variable air volume (VAV) systems.
- Parts of fans in contact with explosive or flammable vapors, fumes or dusts shall be of nonferrous or nonsparking materials or their casing shall be lined or constructed of such material. (UMC Para 503.2)*
- Equipment (Fans) used to exhaust explosive or flammable vapors, fume or dusts shall bear identification plate stating the ventilation rate for which the system was designed for. (UMC 503.2.1)
- Fans located in systems conveying Corrosive shall be of material that are resistant to the Corrosive or shall be coated with corrosion resistant material. (UMC 503.2.2)
- An identification tag or name plate made of 316 stainless steel or better, shall be attached to each equipment unit, securely with stainless steel or Monel fasteners.
- The tag or name plate shall be marked by raised letters or die-stamping with at least the following information:
a) Purchase Order Number b) Manufacturer c) Part/Model No. d) Serial No. e) Date of Manufacture f) Mark/Tag No.”
HVAC Exhaust Fan Handling, Storage, and Preservation
Verify that Approved procedures for handling, storage and preservation of Fans, lists all the required inspection schedules for maintaining the quality of the material and /or equipment.
* Verification is required by checking the equipment submittal if verification is not possible by visual inspection
