HVAC Grease Filter Installation
- Type I hoods shall be equipped with approved grease filters. UMC Para. 508.5
- Filters shall be placed at the location indicated on the Construction Drawings
- Grease collecting equipment shall be accessible for cleaning. UMC Para. 508.5
- The lowest edge of a grease filter located above the cooking surface shall be at least the height set forth in Table 5-D below. UMC Para. 508.5

- Filters shall be provided with drip intercepting devices. UMC Para. 508.5.1
- Filters shall be installed at an angle greater than 45 degrees from the horizontal. UMC Para. 508.5.2
- Filters shall be equipped with a drip tray beneath the lower edge of the filters. UMC Para. 508.5.2.
