HVAC Volume Damper and Duct Heater Installation

Volume Dampers

1. Each supply or return branch duct serving a separate zone or room shall have a volume damper.
2. Volume dampers shall be installed in accordance with Manufacturer’s Installation Manuals.
3. Branch duct dampers shall be sheet metal butterfly type, using pivot and rod, with locking quadrant damper.
4. Volume dampers shall be located a minimum of two duct sizes away from fittings.

Duct Heaters

1. Electrical Duct Heaters shall be installed in accordance with Manufacturer’s Installation Manuals.
2. Airflow Switches shall be provided for Electrical Duct Heaters.
3. Access for servicing or for removal of duct heater shall be provided.
