Metric equivalents of lengths specified in ASTM A 333/A 333M, paragraph 9.1 shall apply when pipe is ordered in metric units. Specified or cut lengths shall be as specified in the purchase order, and length tolerances shall be according to ASTM A 530/A 530M. |

Examination | ASTM A 333/A 333M. NDT shall be performed by suitably qualified personnel who must be approved by a Third Party Organization recognized by a Member State according to Article 13 of either Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EEC or national legislation implementing PED 97/23/EEC. A person suitably qualified as above shall sign the NDT reports. |
Certification | Items DN25 (NPS 1) and smaller shall be provided with an EN 10204 Type 3.1 inspection certificate.
Certification for all other items shall be one of the following:
Company’ representative may be from any Inspection Body acceptable to Company or alternatively a person nominated by Company. The supplier shall contact Company’ Inspection Department to establish who may be Company’ representative when applicable. For items manufactured outside the European Community, copies of the NDT reports and the NDT personnel qualifications shall be included in the documentation with the material certification. For items manufactured within the European Community, only copies of NDT reports shall be included with the material certification providing all the other documentation is retained by the supplier for a minimum of 12 years. |
Marking | ASTM A 333/A 333M. Marking shall also include the Commodity Code. Also see General Piping Material Purchase Specification. |
Protection | Pipe shall be delivered free from corrosion or oxidation. A protective coating of light oil or varnish corrosion inhibitor may be used. This inhibitor shall be easily removable, and the supplier shall state with his quotation the method for removal. |

Packing | Suitable packing shall be provided to ensure that all items arrive at the contractual point of delivery in an undamaged condition. Refer to the purchase order for specific packing standards and instructions. |
