1.0 Scope
This standard outlined procedure describe for assigning numbering for identification of the
Pipeline.

This numbering system assigns a unique number to each Pipeline
1.1 In an Existing Plant, the assignment of pipeline numbers shall be as per respective
affiliate numbering procedure.
1.2 SABIC E & PM approval shall be required for assignment of any number.

2.0 Pipeline Numbering System Format

Unit Number: This two (2) digit numbers the assignment of numbers shall be as
follows:
a) New Plants: EPC contractor shall assign unit numbers to the specific plant. This
numbers shall be from 00 to 99.
b) New Area in Existing Plants: SABIC E&PM will assign the Unit numbers for
Grass root Area in existing plant upon request.

Service Code: This is two (2) or three (3) alpha character code as listed in Table –I .
The service code not shown in Table-I shall be established during the course of design
development.

starts from 1000 to 4999. This sequence number shall match with isometric drawing
sequence number. Refer to Table – III of SES-D03-D01

Line Class: This is with maximum of eight (8) alphanumeric character codes and shall
be in accordance with PIP PNSM0001. The line class not covered in PIP PNSM0001
shall be established during the course of design development.

Line Size: This is with maximum of three (3) character. Nominal pipe size shall be
indicated in inches.

Insulation Code: The insulation, tracing and jacketing required for the pipeline shall be
shown. Refer to Table-II.

Insulation Thickness: Insulation thickness in millimetres (mm) shall be indicated.

Example : 20-A-1234-XXXXXXXXX-12”-CF-100
