Manual Registration of Fieldbus Devices
This article explains how to register Fieldbus devices manually.
Step 1. Calling Up the Manual Registration Dialog Box
Double-click the ALF111(Yokogawa Module) and the port builder file corresponding to the segment for which
engineering is performed in System View in order to start Fieldbus Builder. Then, in Fieldbus Builder, click [Manual Registration…] in the [Device Registration] menu to call up the Manual Registration dialog box.
Step 2. Displaying the List of Devices that Can Be Registered
Choose [Manufacturer ID] – [Device Type] to display the capability file for the corresponding device. If there are the subfolders corresponding to the added-specification-code, they are displayed.
For example, Yokogawa Electric’s EJA100 (DPharp)’s subfolders are “LC1” and “STD.”
When a device of multiple levels is selected, an area for adding new capability levels will be displayed. Click [Select] button, a dialog box for choosing capability level will be displayed. Then, a level can be specified.
When choosing a device that supports block instantiation, an area for the block instantiation settings is also displayed. User can either newly define the numbers of each type of blocks for this device or use the existing block instantiation settings.
Step 3. Selection and Registration of Devices
Select the corresponding device and device revision from the Fieldbus devices displayed in the dialog box. The Enter Device Information dialog box is displayed.
Note: When the device revision number of the physical device and the device revision number of the device defined on the fieldbus builder are not consistent, the connection cannot be established. Therefore, it is necessary to check
the device revision number of the physical device before engineering the device on the fieldbus builder.
Step 4. Entering the Device Information
Specify [Device Tag name], [Node Address], and then [Device Class], [Template File] according to the detailed design and the vendor information.
• Device Tag name
Enter the device tag name specified for the Fieldbus device according to the detailed design.
• Node Address
Enter the node address set for the Fieldbus device according to the detailed design.
• Device Class
Enter the device class set for the Fieldbus device according to the detailed design.
• Template File
Choose a template file to be used. If multiple template files are applicable for the Fieldbus device, choose a proper one from the list.
Step 5. Entering Block Tag Name
After registering a device, open the device’s Block List tab.
The fieldbus block tag names can be entered on this tab in accordance with the detailed design.
Step 6. Save the Entered Settings
When the setting is completed, click [Save] in the [File] menu (Default project or User defined project), or click [Download] in the [File] menu (Current project).
For the current project, if the newly added fieldbus device is connected to the segment, the initialization downloading to the new device will be performed when choosing [File]-[Download].
The following two methods can prevent downloading the block parameters to the fieldbus device. You any use any of them.
• On the Download Confirmation dialog box displayed for downloading, you can uncheck the option [Block parameters are the scope of the loading].
• On the fieldbus builder for common project environment settings, check the checkbox of [The block parameter which includes a block tag name is NOT the scope of the loading at the time of “File” – “Download” execution].
