Security Devices

The SAES-O-206 Standard establishes necessary guidelines for the design, installation, and utilization of security devices in Saudi Aramco industrial facilities classified under SAES-O-201, Section 4.2. Ballistic Protective Glass

Ballistic Protective Glass: Outer gatehouses and gatehouses for Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 facilities, as well as inner gates when specified by Industrial Security Operations (ISO), shall use ballistic protective glass in compliance with Section 4.2.3 of SEC-06. This glass provides enhanced security and protection against ballistic threats.

Barrier Deterrence:

Drop gates and turnstiles are deployed at gates to manage vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and certified crash-rated barriers are installed at main gates and entrances to critical facilities.

Drop Gates: All security gates at industrial facilities shall use drop gates that comply with Section 4.3.1 of SEC-06 to manage vehicular traffic. For product selection constraints, refer to SAES-O-201, Section 4.11.

Turnstiles: Class 1, 2, and 3 facility security gates shall use turnstiles that comply with Section 4.3.2 of SEC-06 to manage pedestrian traffic at industrial facility gates. For product selection constraints, refer to SAES-O-201, Section 4.11.

Crash Barriers: Security gatehouses at Class 1, 2, 3, and 4 facilities shall use certified crash barriers that comply with Section 4.3.3 of SEC-06. These barriers provide vehicular ingress protection at all industrial gates and selected non-industrial gates as determined by Industrial Security Operations (ISO).
