Sprinkler and Standpipe System Material Selection Technical Requirement

Received components are free of damage.
Pipe or tube received for usage in above ground sprinkler, standpipe or combined system are of the materials listed in Tables 2-3.1(A) and 2-3.1(B) of SAES-S-050, as shown below.

Supplied Fittings for use in sprinkler, standpipe or combined systems shall be of the materials listed in Tables 2-4.1 (A) and 2-4.1 (B). See Attachment 1)

Underground firewater supply pipe or tube supplied for usage from the discharge end of the isolation valve, isolating the firewater supply pipe from the water main, to the first flange above ground of the sprinkler, standpipe or combined system shall be of the materials listed in Tables 7-1.2.2(A) and 7-1.2.2(B). See Attachment No.2
“Each hose connection for manual standpipes shall be provided with a conspicuous sign stating “”Manual Standpipe for Fire Department Use Only” (NFPA 14 Para 3-4.2)”

Handling, Storage and Preservation

Verify that approved procedures for handling, storage and preservation, lists all the required inspection schedules for maintaining the quality of the material or equipment. The procedure shall list all inspection schedules for maintaining the quality of the material or equipment as well as provide documentation that the required activities have been performed.
