Telephone System Testing | Test Plan
The selected CONTRACTOR shall provide for review and approval, a complete, detailed factory acceptance test procedure and installation/acceptance test plan. The plan shall cover all common switching components, cross connect cabling, and stations. It shall consist of a minimum or three parts; functional tests, load tests, and performance tests. Each test shall be conducted in the presence of a OWNER representative.
a. Functional Test: The functional test shall demonstrate the ability of the System (hardware and software), components and modules to correctly perform the service functions specified herein. Operational tests shall be performed to insure that they function properly.
b. Load Test: The full load test shall demonstrate the ability of the System to perform without degradation under the effects of a maximum load of traffic. The load test shall not be conducted until after the functional test has been successfully completed.
c. Performance Test: Within the first 45 days after cut over, the performance test must be satisfactorily completed. The performance test is to determine performance under day to day operation during a 20-day period immediately following cut over. The test shall be performed until a consecutive 20-day period has elapsed during which OWNER as defined in the plan submitted by the
selected CONTRACTOR deems the performance acceptable. Failure of the performance test shall be deemed to have occurred when any common system performance requirement, feature, or component does not perform as specified herein.
Test Coordination
- The selected CONTRACTOR will be responsible to coordinate with Telecom Company for any necessary permits and licenses for equipment test and/or inspection prior to cross connect of CO Lines to PABX.
- The selected CONTRACTOR shall notify the OWNER 10 working days prior to the commencement of the Acceptance Tests.
Test Performance
The tests shall simulate a realistic operational environment as may be encountered and ensure that the tests verify the System and sub-system’s performance in compliance with the specification, including the following critical items:
a. The System to be tested must be configured and equipped in accordance with the specification. (PABX and Voicemail)
b. Satisfactory performance with the interfaces in the Specification by the PABX and Voicemail system.
c. Factory tests shall demonstrate to the Buyer that the System and subsystem passes heat, reliability, diagnostic and power supply tests.
5.3.2 Testing shall be performed without disrupting the critical operations. A fraction of each circuit group shall be tested to insure that the equipment meets all specified
requirements. Once the major feature tests are successful then only the remaining fraction shall be tested.
5.3.3 Failure to meet the requirements of any portion of the test plan shall be deemed a failure of the test. The test must be rescheduled after appropriate corrective action has been taken.
5.3.4 The selected CONTRACTOR shall conduct the tests in the presence of the OWNER’S representatives and demonstrate successful performance of the
System’s interfaces, features, traffic capacity, reliability and compliance with the Specification in the factory or a laboratory environment.
Certificate of Conformance
Upon successful completion of the tests, the selected CONTRACTOR shall submit test results and a Certificate of Conformance to Buyer stating that:
a. All specified tests have been successfully completed with test results attached.
b. Equipment Identifications of the manufacturer’s System successfully tested.
Telephone System Training
Within thirty (30) calendar days after award of this Contract, submit an Operation and Maintenance Telephone System Training Plan for Company approval. The Training Plan shall include training on the use of the PABX, voicemail and other Contractor-installed telephone system equipment, features, functions and interfaces.
Within five days after successful completion of final system testing, conduct a three-day Operation and Maintenance Training Program in accordance with the Company approved Training Plan. The training session will be for approximately five (5) Company and/ Building.
Supply all required training materials, training aids and instructors.
Telephone System Utilities
The following utilities shall be available for the repeater stations and associated equipment:
230 Vac +/- 15 percent Nominal, UPS. Manually selectable 127/230 Vac power supply units or equipment shall not be used.
