Pre-Fabrication/Production Requirements

Welding Procedures Specifications (WPS’s), Procedure QualificationRecords (PQR’s) and Welder Qualification Approvals required from the Buyers Representative.
NDT Procedures & Personnel Verify valid personnel qualification and Company approved procedures.
Prototype Model Inspection Required at initial approval only, same testing required as in productions models.
Coating Qualification Approval SAES-H-100: Company pre-fabrication assessment req’d to assure vendor/s conformance to quality element within this spec APCS-2A, 104, 113

In process inspection & test requirement

Specification Details / Notes:

Nondestructive Testing a) Magnetic Particle Testing or Dye Penetrant All NDT shall use ASME B31.3 criteria. All BW ends per (ASME Section V, Article 6) or MT (ASME Section V, Article 7).

Acceptance per ASME sec VIII app.8.

Nondestructive Testing b)  Visual Weld Inspection All NDT shall use ASME B31.3 criteria. All BW shall be visually inspected. Acceptance to ASME B31.3, ’visual’.
Nondestructive Testing c)  Radiographic Testing All NDT shall use ASME B31.3 criteria. All welds shall be 100% radiographed i.a.w ASME B31.3, ’normal fluid service’.

Exception is the final closure weld.

Nondestructive Testing d) Magnetic Particle Inspection of FinalClosure Weld All NDT shall use ASME B31.3 criteria. Closure weld root & final passes shall be MT inspected (ASME Section V, Article 7). Acceptance to ASME sec VIII app. 8.
Hardness Testing  
Dielectric Test, Megger Test, Vacuum Test, Hydrostatic Test & Low pressure leakage Test. Per Applicable SAMSS.
In-Process Internal Coating Inspection: Per relative SAMSS, SAES-H-001, SAES-H-100 & SAES-H-101/APCS-2A.
In-Process Internal Coating Inspection a)  Pre-blast Inspection Per relative SAMSS, SAES-H-100 and SIS W05 W59/00.
In-Process Internal Coating Inspection b) Surface Preparation SAES-H-101/APCS-2A See SAES-H-100 for quality details.
In-Process Internal Coating Inspection c) Wet & Dry Film CoatingThickness# 02-SAMSS-008 & SAES-H-101/APCS-2A.
In-Process Internal Coating Inspection d) Annular space: Blast and filling requirements. Blast to SIS W05 W59/00, SA 2 1/2 ..

Final inspection & test requirements

Specification Details / Notes:

Visual Inspection (surface quality) and Dimensional Check As specified in SAMSS.
’Internal’ Coating Inspection a) Coating extends past ’O’ ring groove/s  
’Internal’ Coating Inspection b) Visual inspection for Runs, Sags, Drips etc.  
’Internal’ Coating Inspection c) Holiday Testing of entire spool interior No holidays allowed. See SAMSS for details.
’External’ Coating Inspection Coating shall be APCS-104 or APCS-113. Quality to

SAES-H-100. Holiday Inspection of spool exterior required.
