01-SAMSS-043Carbon Steel Pipes for On-Plot Piping
The 01-SAMSS-043 Specification pertains to carbon steel pipes, both welded and seamless, intended for on-plot piping applications. It includes low-temperature grades listed in ASTM A333 and A671, but does not cover alloy steel pipes containing Cr and Mo. The requirements outlined in this specification are supplementary to the relevant ASTM standards.
It’s important to note that high-frequency welded pipes are not permitted for on-plot applications, as specified in Saudi Aramco standard SAES-L-136. However, pipes manufactured to API 5L can be used for on-plot piping if they comply with Saudi Aramco standard SAES-L-105 and are manufactured in accordance with Saudi Aramco specification 01-SAMSS-035. This particular specification, 01-SAMSS-043, is not applicable for the procurement of API 5L pipes.
