01-SAMSS-035API Line Pipe
The 01-SAMSS-035 Specification serves as an addendum to API 5L, specifically addressing the requirements for seamless and submerged-arc welded (SAW), straight-seam, and spiral-seam steel line pipe. This specification is applicable to line pipe manufactured in accordance with API SPEC 5L (45th Edition, December 2012) up to Product Specification Level 2.
It is important to note that unless specified otherwise in the Purchase Order, the pipe manufactured according to this specification should be suitable for internal and external coating with fusion bonded epoxy and other relevant coating materials. Additional information regarding coating suitability can be found in paragraphs 9.10.7, 9.11.3.3 c, and 9.13.2.2 c of the specification.
It is advised to refer to Saudi Aramco Engineering Standard SAES-L-136 for any limitations on the use of spiral-welded pipe and for the company’s procurement policy regarding seamless pipes intended for sour service.
